"The Gun Was An Extention Of My Body", Says Shraddha Kapoor On "Saaho"

Bollywood superstar Shraddha Kapoor will be playing the role of a cop for the first time in her career in her upcoming action thriller film Saaho. The trilingual film stars Prabhas in the lead and is directed by Sujeeth. This will be Prabhas’s first film after the Baahubali and Baahubali - The Conclusion.

Talking about the role, Shraddha told to the media portal, “I am super excited to play the role of a cop for the first time. It’s such a privilege. The police do so much for the country it’s an honor for me to represent them. Essaying a police officer is a special one because you are representing such an integral part of the security force of our country. It feels awesome to be playing one."

The teaser also revealed that Shraddha gets to display her shooting skills with her pistol. In fact, a synchronized gunfight sequence featuring her and Prabhas is one of the highlights of the teaser of Saaho.

Opening up about carrying a pistol in the film, she unveiled, "Throughout the shoot, I got so comfortable holding the gun that it almost started feeling like an extension of my body. On set, if I didn't have my weapon with me, I would always inquire about it. The fact that you have to use it responsibly was another thing and it's amazing that a police officer's mind is so sharp in terms of how they need to use the gun and in what situations."

A poster of the film showed Shraddha facing the camera and pointing a pistol towards it. While the plot is still under wraps, we know from the teaser that Saaho is an action-packed movie with lots of stunts and visual effects. According to the latest update, Saaho will also have Shraddha and Prabhas's Romantic scenes in film song which was shot in Austria.

According to reports, Shraddha has a very important character in the film. She has several action scenes along with Prabhas and it’s reportedly not a small appearance as is being speculated.

According to recent reports, Shraddha has also now joined the sets of the Prabhas starrer for its Abu Dhabi schedule. Reportedly the schedule will focus on shooting slick action sequences and a thrilling chase. Reports even have it that the sequences will involve the use of bikes, cars, trucks, and helicopters. Renowned choreographer Kenny Bates will reportedly be canning the action sequences.

Reports also suggest that the lead actor Prabhas took the lessons of Hindi language from Shraddha Kapoor for his Hindi dubbing. But the makers have decided that Shraddha Kapoor dialogues in the Telugu version will be dubbed because Tollywood fans are very particular about the diction of their language.

The two leads have decided to help each other with Hindi and Telugu respectively. Of course, the actors will have professional language tutors, but they still feel conversing in the language they are weak in will improve their grasp on it. As it is, Saaho will be shot in Hindi and Telugu languages simultaneously.
