Remake Of “96” Will Feature Sharwanand And Samantha Akkineni As The Lead

The Telugu remake of 96 will start shooting this March, being produced by Dil Raju and directed by Prem Kumar.

96” is a Tamil romance film that received many positive reviews from the critics and has made various headlines. 96 is directed by director Prem Kumar and starred Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi in the main roles. It also starred Varsha Bollamma, Aadithya Bhaskar, Gouri G Kishan, Devadarshini, Janagaraj, and Bagavathi Perumal and many more. This film was shown at the theater for over a month and it was a great hit at the box office.

It is highly rated by many actors and won numerous film awards including Behindwoods Gold Medal, Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards, Norway Tamil Film Festival Awards and BOFTA Galatta Debut Awards. It was praised for its screenplay, direction, the excellent acting of the main actors and even the soundtrack.

96 is based on the story of Ram and Jaanu who were friends since childhood and they had feelings for each other. They later fall in love with each other after meeting at a school reunion. Unfortunately, they didn’t get to be together because of the gap in communicating. How does their love story turn out to be after over two decades since everything started?

The Telugu remake of “96” still remains untitled and its remake rights were acquired by Dil Raju. Since director Dil Raju has produced the remake rights, there have been various gossips about the cast of the film. Many actors including Nani and Allu Arjun were rumored to play the role of Vijay Sethupathi but there hasn’t been any official announcement made by the producers or the actors yet. There were also many rumors that Trisha will play a part in the remake.

Lately, the producers of the film have confirmed that actors Samantha Akkineni and Sharwanand will play the main roles in this film. The shooting is likely to start in March and will be directed by Prem Kumar, who is also the director of the original film.
