Priyanka Arul Mohan To Join Nithiin On The Cast Of “Andhadhun” Remake?

Priyanka Arul Mohan has reportedly been lined-up to play the role which Bollywood actress Radhika Apte essayed in the original film.

Priyanka Arul Mohan, who impressed everyone with her excellent performance in the much-loved action comic-caper Gang Leader (2019), has added yet another exciting project on her resume. According to reports, the gorgeous actress has been lined-up to essay a pivotal part in the much-awaited Telugu remake of superhit Bollywood film Andhadhun (2018).

If reports are to be believed, Priyanka Arul Mohan has been roped in to reprise the character which Bollywood actress Radhika Apte played in the original movie. Buzz has it that that the makers had initially thought of approaching Radhika Apte to reprise her role from the original. However, due to some unknown reasons, they decided to go ahead with Priyanka Arul Mohan. An official confirmation on Priyanka Arul Mohan joining the cast of the film is highly awaited though.

Popular Tollywood actor Nithiin is playing the lead role in the remake of Andhadhun. He will step into the shoes of National Film Award-winning actor Ayushmann Khurrana. Well-known filmmaker Merlapaka Gandhi will call the shots for the film.

While the entire cast and crew of the project are yet to be announced, rumours mills have been into overdrive regarding certain roles. Before Priyanka Arul Mohan, news was doing the rounds that talented actress Ramya Krishnan had come onboard to play Tabu’s role in the Telugu version.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, Andhadhun went on to do exceptionally well at the box-office upon its release. The movie garnered massive appreciation from critics as well. It also walked away with three National Film Awards in such categories as Best Feature Film in Hindi, Best Actor for Ayushmann Khurrana and Best Screenplay.

The Telugu remake rights of Andhadhun have been acquired for an impressive ₹3.5 crore by Shrest Movies, owned by actor Nithiin and his father. The pooja ceremony of the remake took place in February. The shooting is expected to commence after the lockdown is lifted.
