Recently, she also came onboard to play the female lead opposite megastar Rajinikanth in an upcoming Tamil film to be directed by well-known South Indian filmmaker Siva.

But looks like Keerthy Suresh has walked out of filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s next directorial offering Ponniyin Selvan to be a part of Rajinikanth’s next film, tentatively titled Thalaivar 168. Earlier, the actress was psyched up about teaming up with Mani Ratnam on Ponniyin Selvan, but she could not manage her dates as they were clashing with the schedule of Thalaivar 168.

With no other option in hand, Keerthy Suresh had to make a touch choice and let go of Ponniyin Selvan which also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Keerthi, Trisha and Jayam Ravi in principal roles. The first schedule of the historical drama has already begun in Thailand. Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies, Ponniyin Selvan is expected to enter theatres in 2020. Oscar winning music director A. R. Rahman is composing music for the film while cinematography is handled by Ravi Varman.

Meanwhile, Keerthy Suresh is also gearing up for her big Bollywood debut with superstar Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited sports drama Maidaan. To be directed by Amit Sharma of Badhaai Ho (2018) fame, Maidaan is scheduled to release in August 2020. Boney Kapoor is the producer of the film.
