Anushka Shetty To Reteam With S.S. Rajamouli After "Baahubali" Franchise

Anushka Shetty, who played the female lead in S.S. Rajamouli’s gobsmackingly epic movie series "Baahubali", may join hands with the filmmaker once again to play a crucial role in his next directorial venture, tentatively titled "RRR".

Speculations are rife in Tollywood that talented actress Anushka Shetty may reunite with celebrated filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli once again. Shetty played the female lead in Rajamouli’s gobsmackingly epic film series, Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017). The actress received an overwhelming response for her character Devasena.

Anushka Shetty was last seen in action thriller drama Bhaagamathie (2018), which turned out to be a great box-office success. After the release of the movie, she did not take up new projects. Reportedly, she wanted to shed some weight before signing new projects.

After getting into shape again, she recently gave her nod to an Indo-American production, titled Silence. Kollywood star Madhavan will play the lead role in the movie.

Besides Silence, Anushka Shetty may also essay a crucial role in S.S. Rajamouli’s next, tentatively titled RRR. Reportedly, the makers have offered her a small but extremely important role in the upcoming movie. If the actress agrees to come on board, she will be seen in a three-minute crucial role, which appears in the first half of the film.

Talking about the rest of the star cast, the much-awaited movie features several high-profile names from Tollywood and Bollywood. While RRR stars southern superstars N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan Teja in lead roles, Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt will also be seen essaying prominent roles in the movie.

For the uninitiated, the S.S. Rajamouli directorial sheds light on the inspirational lives of freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan Teja will play the roles of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem respectively.

S.S. Rajamouli is, reportedly, making RRR with a humongous budget of approximately ₹ 350-400 crores. The movie is set to buzz into theatres on July 30, 2020. It will be one of the costliest films upon its release.
