Upcoming DC Movies List – “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson Officially Goes Solo, Superheroes Reunite

Along with thriller, crime, comedy, or romantic, the superhero genre is by far the biggest around. From Bollywood to Hollywood, the audience seems to be bombarded with different superhero movies, but this genre has already established its position in the film industry with a massive but loyal fan base. Besides MCU, every release of the upcoming DC movies always stirs up a storm in the film community.

Warner Bros recently kicked off its DC Extended Universe with Man of Steel, followed by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, then Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and the final one is Justice League.

If you find it hard to keep track of DC’s upcoming movies, then your problem will be solved as below is the full list of confirmed big-screen projects. However, note that all the release dates are only for the US and the release dates in India may differ.

 Wonder Woman 1984

Set to release on 2 October 2020, Wonder Woman 1984 is a sequel to the 2017 super hit and it should be the first name mentioned in the list of upcoming DC movies. The audience will see Gal Gadot back to the silver screen as the title superheroine. The film is once again helmed by Patty Jenkins.

Watching the film’s main trailer, it has promised that the film is bound to be much bigger than its original as it’s packed with big set pieces and top-notch visual effects. Director Jenkins went on record to confirm that the story as well as the setting are rooted in the 80s of America.

The Batman

Robert Pattinson will step into the shoes of The Batman version 2021. The film also features the whole set of Bat-villains comprising of Catwoman, Ridder, Carmine Falcone, The Penguin, and many others.

It’s all set to release on 1 October next year.

The Suicide Squad

The Suicide Squad will see the return of Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Joel Kinnaman in their roles as Harley Quinn, Amanda Waller, Captain Boomerang, and Rick Flag respectively. On the other hand, the film will also welcome new characters like Peacemaker, The Thinker, Bloodsport, and others with brand-new faces. This part is bound to become one of the most awaited releases in the upcoming DC movies list.

The Suicide Squad is slated to hit the screens on 22 December 2021.

Black Adam

One of the highly anticipated releases in the list of upcoming DC movies is Black Adam as it will star the world’s most expensive actor, Dwayne Johnson a.k.a The Rock. The film will trace the character’s origins as DC FanDome teaser has revealed. Black Adam is all set to release on 22 December 2021 and we will see a big clash between two biggies Black Adam and The Suicide Squad.

Justice League: Snyder Cut

Director Zack Snyder and Warner Bros came to an agreement that was announced in May 2020 that the film will be broadcasted on HBO Max in 2021. However, the release date has not been confirmed yet. Other than the usual suspects including Ben Affleck, Jason Momoa, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Henry Cavill, and Ray Fisher who play the greatest superheroes of DC, Snyder Cut will be a highlight in the Upcoming DC movies with several top-notch footages.

The Flash

Big news for DC fans as the long-gestating project The Flash is not in the pipeline anymore. It’s not only official now but will also star more Batmen than Batman-series movie. Reports have it that both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will reprise their role in the Ezra Miller-starrer film which adapts the storyline of Flashpoint.

The Flash is scheduled to release on 3 June 2022.

Shazam!: Fury of the Gods

 Upcoming DC movies series cannot complete without mentioning Shazam!: Fury of the Gods. Following the success of the first installment, Shazam!, the filmmaker decided to produce its sequel. Director David F Sandberg suggested that the film will be as fun and goofy as its original.

Especially, this part will also witness the comeback of Zachary Levi and co-stars Jack Dylan Grazer and Asher Angel. 4 November 2022 is the film release date.

Aquaman 2

Aquaman truly took the box office by storm and became nothing short of a phenomenon and its second installment is set to release on 16 December 2022. James Wan also returns to direct this sequel. In fact, as per the reports following the first film’s successful box office debut, the studio wanted James to develop the project but he decided whether or not to do it back then.

Jason Momoa, Patrick Wilson, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II are all confirmed to be a part of the sequel.
