Film Festival

As a part of social distancing practices, many big events all around the world have been postponed. This year's Cannes film festival is among those events. March 12 marked the official announcement on the cancelation of the most prestigious annual event of the film industry. Since Europe has become the new epicenter of the pandemic, calling off such a public gathering like Cannes is essential to France’s combat against the fatal virus.

This year's SXSW conference in Texas couldn’t take place either. This has caused enormous disappointment among its participants especially film producers who had put their hearts and souls into the works.

New York’s Tribeca film festival is also amid many canceled events. This year has seen numerous cancelations of multiple big events, which will surely pose a serious threat to the financial health of many people.

Apart from movie release delays, Cannes Festival was also put on hold as Europe became the epic center of coronavirus

The film industry has come to a halt due to the coronavirus and as a matter of fact, filming is also unable to get underway in time. The interruption of movie productions involves some of the forthcoming blockbusters such as Mission: Impossible 7, Indiana Jones 5, The Matrix 4, Avatar 2, and many more. As Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson tested positive for coronavirus, the production of Luhrmann's biopic of Elvis Presley was also unable to continue.

As movie release delays are inevitable, hope that the world will soon overcome this unprecedented time so we can enjoy these blockbusters on the big screen.
