Avengers Endgame Trailer: 5 Easter Eggs You May Have Missed

Nagini Shree |Dec 10, 2018

Breaking down all the hints, details, and secrets hiding in the new trailer for Avengers: Endgame.

Although the long-awaited trailer for Avengers 4 did not spill the beans in terms of plot, Marvel cannot help dissect every tiny detail for clues to formulate some pretty compelling theories. The two-minute-long trailer has been dropped with any warning and set a new record for the fourth franchise of Avengers movies and encouraged fans to unpack secrets.

While Tony Stark is in a bad situation - isolated in space and run out of food and water, and his oxygen, Steve Rogers is more optimistic back home on Earth.

However, most of the plot has still been kept under wraps: how will the story end? Who is powerful enough to defeat Thanos for good or will be more superheroes turned into dust? Marvel fans have been hounding these questions since the end of Avengers: Infinity War with the official name for Thanos snap finger - Decimation was unveiled. In addition, there has been numerous theories and speculations related to them making rounds on the Internet.

Here are 5 of the biggest things we spotted from the Avengers 4 trailer, with massive spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War included.

Pepper Potts will rescue Iron Man?

The first moment of the trailer sees Tony Stark stuck in a spaceship and recorded a heartbreaking message to Pepper Pot,  tells her:

This could be considered as a message to Avengers 4's audience as well. Tony and Pepper's relationship came into the spotlight in the previous franchise, and now while he’s at his lowest point, he tries to send his last emotional words to the woman his loves. Is he going to survive this? And if so, who’s going to save him?

A leaked image which showed Gwyneth Paltrow in a space suit suggests that Tony might be rescued by Pepper.

The ship with Tony at the trailer’s start has been expected to be the Benatar - the Guardians' ship. In one still, it seems as if Nebula is comforting Tony on the ship and is trapped in it with him. It is worth bearing in mind that only Tony and Nebula could survive Thanos's Decimation.

Comic book reference

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have been known for sticking to the source materials, and Avengers Endgame trailer is not an exception when it shares a close connection with the original comic book. One shot portrays Thanos's armor similar to a scarecrow. Scarecrows are tools used to ward off birds and prevent crops from being devoured, which Thanos once used in 1991’s Infinity Gauntlet #1 to cultivate life on his farm and protect it from predators. Is the Thanos-crow a sign that Thanos has a newfound respect for the preciousness and fragility of life?

Hawkeye is back

Of one fan theory is proven to be true when Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye was conspicuously absent from Infinity War, which is making his comeback in a new costume. Comic fans will recognize the new look for Clint Barton as the hero Ronin.

Presumably, the post-Snap devastation was enough to get Barton back into action.  We know Clint survived Thanos' snap, but what about his family? Considering how distraught he appears in the trailer of the Avengers: Endgame.

But...

Scott’s returning

In the “Ant-Man” sequel, Scott Lang was trapped in the quantum realm in one of the end-credit scenes. However, the new fresh trailer sees Scott Lang making a sudden appearance at the Avengers headquarters in the final moments.

"Is anyone home?" Scott asks a camera as Captain America and Black Widow watch the screen. So if Scot is not missing that means that the surviving Avengers don't have all of the information on everyone's whereabouts. Shuri could easily be hiding in Wakanda, working on a way to fix the events of "Infinity War."

The most important scene spotted is the appearance of Luis' van. If anyone who’s seen the Ant-Man and The Wraps end will realize that this van carries the transporter that allows Scott to enter the Quantum Realm, being very useful for traveling through time and space to retrieve those pesky Infinity stones back from Thanos. Therefore, Scott will be the key factor to rescue the slain Avengers.

The film will serve as a conclusion to wrap up phase of the MCU, open the door for new characters to enter the frame.
