Zero Total Box Office Gross Week 2: Shahrukh Khan-Starrer Movie Is A Disappointment

Shahrukh Khan’s most expensive movie Zero kicked off the New Year with a slow start and collected further dipped over time. Zero was the only big release of Shahrukh Khan in 2018, however, it did not perform well at the domestic box offices.

The Box Office India reported that the movie managed to earn ₹12,5 million on the New Year’s day, its twelfth day at the box office. Zero has now collected a total of ₹892,5 million, which is enormously unimpressive for the film starring several biggest names of Bollywood. With these figures, it could be hard for the movie to cross ₹1 billion.

The romantic drama movie, helmed by director Aanand L Rai, tells the story of the dwarf man Bauua Singh (played by Shahrukh Khan), who has difficulty in finding his marriage partner. When Bauua signs up on one marital website, he stumbles upon a photo of the beautiful scientist Aafia who is suffering from cerebral palsy. But then, his dream woman, superstar Babita walks into his life in the twist of fate. The man is now on an adventure to find his true love and his life purposes.

Zero also features Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Tigmanshu Dhulia. Shahrukh Khan’s film also has many Bollywood stars’ cameo appearances involving Salman Khan, Kajol, Sridevi, Rani Mukherjee, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Juhi Chawla and Karishma Kapoor.

After Zero’s failure, Shahrukh Khan is preparing for his next movie, in which the 53-year-old actor will play the role of Rakesh Sharma, an Indian Air Force pilot. This role was first offered to Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, however, the “Thug of Hindostan” actor told the film’s makers to cast Shahrukh Khan instead because he thought Shahrukh Khan will be a perfect choice for this role.
