Vicky Kaushal Starrer Udham Singh Biopic To Enter Theatres On October 2, 2020

The biopic is based on the life of revolutionary Udham Singh who is best known for assassinating Michael O' Dwyer, the former lieutenant governor of Punjab in British India, in revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919.

Vicky Kaushal, who has some interesting projects in his hands right now, will next be seen in filmmaker Shoojit Sircar’s upcoming directorial venture. The project is a biopic on great revolutionary and freedom fighter Udham Singh who assassinated Michael O' Dwyer in revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919.

The movie, which was announced a couple of months ago, has now locked a date for its theatrical release. Starring Vicky Kaushal in the titular role of Udham Singh, the biopic will roll into theatres on October 2, 2020.

Confirming the release date of the film, filmmaker Shoojit Sircar told media,

Sircar wrapped up the first schedule of his film in May. Now the entire team is gearing up to commence the second schedule in the month of October. According to a source, the second schedule of the biopic will stretch for four months and the team is looking at wrapping up the entire movie by January next year.

We also hear that the upcoming schedule has been planned at several locations across Russia, U.K, Europe, and North India.

Before beginning the second schedule of the Vicky Kaushal starrer Udham Singh biopic, filmmaker Shoojit Sircar will finish another directorial venture, Gulabo Sitabo. The movie stars thespian Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana in lead roles. Written by Sircar’s frequent collaborator Juhu Chaturvedi, Gulabo Sitabo is a quirky comic-caper set in Lucknow. The film rolls next months.

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal is presently busy with his upcoming horror film, Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship. He will then star in Dharma Productions’ ambitious period film, Takht, which Karan Johar is set to direct. The big-ticket film also features Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor.
