Sonam Kapoor: "No Hero Wanted To Work With Me", Clarified She Is Not A Product Of Nepotism

In a recent interview, Sonam Kapoor has claimed that no actor in Bollywood wanted to star opposite her in such a female-centric film like "Khoobsoorat".

Sonam Kapoor is currently considered to be one of the most sought-after actresses of the Bollywood film industry. Coming from a filmy background as being the daughter of Anil Kapoor, she has also been questioned about having an easier way in Bollywood.

In a recent interview, Sonam has spoken about her challenges facing with nepotism in the industry and difficulties in making female-centric films such as Aisha and Khoobsurat.

Sonam Kapoor said that most male actors in Bollywood refused to work with her in Aisha and Khoobsurat because of its title, therefore she had to get Fawad Khan to be the lead in the film.

''Nepotism'' is one burning topic in Hindi film industry and was sparked off when the bold actress Kangana Ranaut called out Karan Johar "a flagbearer of nepotism" on his talk show. And Sonam Kapoor, who often finds her at the receiving end of brutal trolling, claimed that she doesn’t fall in that category because she is a self-made actress and has to audition for every film she's acted.

Talking about bagging the role in Delhi 6, which received a lukewarm response at the box office, Sonam said she got it on her own merits.

On the work front, Sonam Kapoor will be soon seen in The Zoya Factor opposite Dulquer Salmaan. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film is based on Anuja Chauhan's bestselling novel of the same name. It is set to hit the screens on September 20.
