Sonakshi Sinha In Talks To Topline A Biopic On Paralympics Silver-Medallist Deepa Malik

Last seen in Dharma Productions’ Kalank, beautiful actress Sonakshi Sinha is reportedly in talks to play Paralympics silver-medallist Deepa Malik in her biopic. More details on the project are expected to arrive soon.

Sonakshi Sinha, who was most recently seen in Dharma Productions’ Kalank (2019), is presently busy promoting her upcoming film, Khandaani Shafakhana, which is scheduled to hit the marquee on 26th July.

Besides Khandaani Shafakhana, the talented actress has several high-profile projects in her hand including Mission Mangal and Dabangg 3. The latest we have learned that she is now in talks to play Paralympics silver-medallist Deepa Malik in her biopic.

If you remember, a couple of years ago, the news hit the headlines that Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani were set to produce a biopic on Deepa Malik under Excel Entertainment. However, we did not hear much about the project thereafter. But now it is back in the news once again.

We hear that the makers have restarted working on the project and actress Sonakshi Sinha has been approached to play Deepa Malik in the biopic.

Talking about Deepa Malik, producer Ritesh Sidhwani had earlier said,

For the uninitiated, Deepa Malik, 48, is the first Indian woman to have won a medal in Paralympics Games. She is also the first woman athlete to clinch a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics. In addition to that, she has also won 54 national gold medals and 13 in swimming, shot put and javelin throw at the international level. She currently is the world number one in the F-53 category.
