Siddharth Malhotra has finally scored a hit after a series of flops. His latest film “Marjaavaan” has done good business, especially in mass centres and single screens.

Sidharth Malhotra is overjoyed at the moment! After a series of disappointments, the handsome hunk has finally scored a hit at the box-office. His latest film Marjaavaan (2019), which hit the marquee on 15th November, has done well at the cash counter. Also starring Riteish Deshmukh, Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet Singh, the movie has performed quite well in 2nd and 3rd tier cities which have contributed massively to the total collection. Currently, the Milap Zaveri directorial stands at a total collection of Rs. 42 crores and a lifetime collection in excess of Rs. 50 crores is given considering the fact that there is no film to challenge its run for another week at least.

Sidharth Malhotra is really happy to see the kind of response that his latest offering has generated at the box-office. “I am quite happy with the response for Marjaavaan. We had a certain target audience in mind for the film and we played to that strength. Thankfully, it all worked out. A success always has a sweet sound to it and I am enjoying that ring in my ear,” says the handsome star.

Ever since making his debut with Dharma Productions’ Student of the Year (2012), Sidharth Malhotra has tried to play diverse characters. Irrespective of the fate of his films, the actor has always shown boldness in terms of choosing characters. Be it Baar Baar Dekho (2016), A Gentleman (2017), Ittefaq (2018) or Aiyaary (2018), all his films have been different from one another.

Kapoor & Sons (2016) was different too and it worked well. Then there was Brothers (2015) which involved a lot of action. I never wanted to stick to one genre and get slotted in a particular characterization. Of course, you want your films to be watched by maximum number of people as well. That is what keeps the excitement going too. This is what makes me much happier about Marjaavaan,” says Sidharth Malhotra who is now gearing up for his next Shershaah, a Dharma Productions venture.
