“Satyameva Jayate 2” Helmer Milap Zaveri Confirms Taking The Franchise Forward

“Satyamev Jayate 2” is a sequel to the 2018 vigilante drama “Satyamev Jayate”, featuring John Abraham in the lead role.

Satyamev Jayate 2, a sequel to the 2018 hit vigilant drama Satyamev Jayate, hit the shooting floor a couple of weeks ago. Starring John Abraham and Divya Khosla Kumar in lead roles, Satyamev Jayate 2 is being shot at a brisk pace. Writer Milap Zaveri, who turned director with the first instalment of the film, confirms that he will continue making more parts of the franchise with his favourite star John Abraham.

Before starting work on Satyamev Jayate 2, Milap Zaveri delivered a sleeper hit titled Marjaavaan (2019). The romantic revenge drama received poor reviews from critics, but it attracted mass audience in galore and went on to rake in close to Rs. 50 crores at the domestic box-office. Milap is a filmmaker who knows the pulse of the audience he primarily caters to, and with Satyamev Jayate 2, he is planning to attract the same audience.

Talking about Satyameva Jayate 2, the director told a publication that the first film dealt with corruption, but in the second instalment, corruption in all spheres – from the police to politicians, industrialists, the common man—will be tackled. The filmmaker said that it is situational and in the Dabangg (2010) and Rowdy Rathore (2012) zone.

Milap confirmed that the Satyamev Jayate franchise will not be limited to just two instalments. He said that just like Sylvester Stallone has done Rambo, he will keep making Satyameva Jayate with John Abraham addressing new issues in each part. The director said that the actor will keep growing older but will continue to fight corruption in the series. The director had earlier said that Satyameva Jayate 2 is twice the action, emotion, power, patriotism and punch.

The film, produced by Emmay Entertainment and T-Series Films, is scheduled to release on 2nd October, 2020.
