CONFIRMED! Sara Ali Khan And Varun Dhawan To Star In The Remake Of "Coolie No 1"

Following her star performance in Simba, Sara Ali Khan will be seen romancing Varun Dhawan in the remake of the 90's classic comedy Coolie No 1.

Last seen in Rohit Shetty’s blockbuster Simmba, Sara Ali Khan is about to kick off her next project which is the modern version of Coolie No 1. According to the film’s maker, the young actress will team up with Kalank actor Varun Dhawan for the first time in the upcoming remake.

The filmmaker has taken to his Twitter the official announcement on the remake of Coolie No 1, 25 years after the release of Vashu Bhagnani and David Dhawan’s timeless comedy. He also added that the shoot is going to start this August.

Earlier, netizens have sparked up speculations that the 23-year-old actress will be seen starring opposite Varun Dhawan in the remake of the renowned comedy.

The Original's Director And Producer Will Team Up In The Remake Version 

Releasing in 1995, Coolie No 1 which starred Karisma Kapoor and Govinda in the lead roles became one of the most iconic films in Bollywood. The 90's blockbuster was directed by Varun’s father, David Dhawan and produced by Vashu Bhagnani. Both of them will also collaborate in the remake version which will expectedly hit the theatres next year on October 2. Two of the original's songs including "Husn Hai Suhana"  and "Main Toh Raste Se Ja Raha Tha" will be retained in the upcoming remake.

This will be the second collab of Varun and his dad while the first one was in Judwaa 2. Making his debut in 2012 with Johar’s romantic drama Student Of The Years, Varun Dhawan is raising into the stardom of Bollywood. The actor, who has just turned 32 today, lately impressed us with his stellar performance in Abhishek Verman’s Kalank.

Meanwhile, his co-star Sara Ali Khan was also praised for her performance in Simba. The actress has just made her debut into the industry last year with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath.
