Ranbir Kapoor & Vaani Kapoor’s “Shamshera” Begins First Schedule In Ladakh

Announced in 2018, “Shamshera” is a dacoit drama which also features Sanjay Dutt, besides Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor. Yash Raj Films is bankrolling the high-profile film.

Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor have joined hands for the first time for Yash Raj Films’ much-awaited dacoit drama Shamshera. Also starring superstar Sanjay Dutt in an important role, the movie has faced some delay in production as Ranbir Kapoor was busy shooting for Dharma Productions’ ambitious project Brahmastra.

However, if fresh reports are to be believed, the makers are gearing up to begin the first shooting schedule of the film in Ladakh, which boasts of a plethora of picturesque locations. Shamshera will also be the first Bollywood film to be shot in Ladakh after it became a Union Territory.

Set in the 1800s, Shamshera revolves around a tribe fighting for its rights and independence from the British, according to reports. While Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as the male lead, Sanjay Dutt plays his nemesis. The Ladakh schedule of the film will last for almost 10 days.

Produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films, Shamshera is a Karan Malhotra directorial. He has previously helmed films like Agneepath (2011) and Brothers (2015).
