Priyanka Chopra On Sixth Anniversary Of Dad Ashok’s Death: “Seems Like Just Yesterday We Lost You”

Six years back, in 2013, Priyanka Chopra and her family got a great deal of heartache as her dad passed away after his long battle with cancer.

Several years have gone by since then. Despite recovering from the pain, the image of a devoted father always lives forever in Priyanka’s heart. Even the actress got a tattoo “Daddy’s lil girl” on her forearm to deepen his dad’s memory.

Yesterday, on his sixth death anniversary, Priyanka took to Instagram to share a sweet throwback picture with Ashok. Accompanying the old image is her emotional note:

"6 years. It seems Like just yesterday we lost you. I miss you, Dad. Inexplicably."

The photo recalls a past memorable moment of the father-daughter duo: A little Priyanka is perching on the tree branch while Ashok is standing by her side, guarding her against falling.

After her Instagram post, Priyanka’s husband, the American singer Nick Jonas, immediately left a heart emoji, whereas Paul Kevin Jonas Sr., her father-in-law, wrote a touching comment.

"All our love, sweet Daughter-in-Law. Nothing can replace such a special man, but we are here to surround your heart with love and support."

Priyanka Chopra, who had a closeness to her dad, always shows his infinite love for his father. Last year, on Ashok's fifth death anniversary, Priyanka also took to Instagram to post a video expressing her tremendous admiration for her father. The Sky Is Pink star said in the video:

Additionally, on the occasion of Ashok’s birthday last August, merely days after Priyanka and Nick’s engagement, Quantico actress also paid an emotional tribute to her late father. The actress captioned the video.

One day earlier the Sunday’s post about Ashok, Priyanka took to Instagram to share two fun-filled family photographs in her mother Madhu’s early birthday bash.  Priyanka captioned two cute pics.

Besides, in a recent interview with InStyle, Priyanka made a revelation about her big expectation of “a formidable career and legacy” for herself as well as a meaningful “existence,” filling her future children with admiration.  The 36-year-old actress confided:

On the work front, Priyanka will next co-star with the director-actor Farhan Akhtar in Bollywood flick The Sky Is Pink. The movie, directed by Shonali Bose, will have its premiere on October 11, 2019.
