Pooja Bedi's Daughter Alaya F Talks About Nepotism

Alaya F took a four year course in filmmaking at New York University and claimed that she was rejected after auditions.

Alaya F will be making her debut with her upcoming Bollywood flick, Jawaani Jaaneman. The comedy film has been directed by Nitin Kakkar, starring Saif Ali Khan as a 40 year-old father and debutant Alaya Furniturewala as his daughter, alongside Tabu. Alaya F is daughter of actress Pooja Bedi and has become a topic to discuss nepotism prevailing in the Bollywood industry. In a recent interview, the actress spoke in detail about her thoughts on nepotism. Alaya Alaya F revealed that she was very good in her academics and had bagged several extra curricular awards during her college years. She later joined a four year course in filmmaking at New York University. She claimed that just because she loved films, she decided to be an actress. She also said that after she arrived back in India for a summer break, she informed her mother about her decision to work as an actress. Shockingly, no one believed her and Pooja Bedi asked her to not be indecisive. She completed all the formalities for documentation to enter New York Film Academy and got the admission. She also made a five year plan and approached her parents for approval.

Talking about the ongoing debate on nepotism, she said, "We need to realise that even in our struggle, we are privileged." She believes that if star kids get rejected in 10 auditions, other people have got thumbs down 100 times. She feels just because she is at a privileged position, she will not give up on something which she likes. She wants to work hard in the industry. She also claimed that even she faced rejections and and she is happy that her debut film is with Saif Ali Khan and Tabu.

In a recent media interaction, Saif Ali Khan praised Alaya F and compared her with superstar Shah Rukh Khan. He had said that Alaya F has got immense talent and her role in the film is very interesting.
