An insider informed the website that the filmmakers “got carried away” while deciding to put in a joke about marital rape.

As reported by Bollywood Hungama, an obnoxious line of Kartik Aaryan in the monologue from Pati Patni Aur Woh is going to be removed. An insider informed the website that the filmmakers “got carried away” while deciding to put in a joke about marital rape.

As to the source, “Since Kartik Aaryan’s monologue in Pyaar Ka Punchnaama was a hit they thought of doing another one this time and got carried away. The offensive monologue will be edited out of the film.”

Kartik Aaryan 1

The upcoming movie and Kartik himself got quite many adverse reactions from the Internet users after the film’s trailer got released previously this week.

Chintu Tyagi (Kartik) can be seen in a scene grumbling about how people call men rapists when they force their wives to intercourse. He says,

“Biwi se sex maang lein toh hum bikhaari. Biwi ko sex na de toh hum atyachaari. Aur kisi tarah jugaad laga ke usse sex haasil kar lena toh balaatkari bhi hum hai. (If we ask our wives for sex then we’re called beggars, if we deny them sex then we’re called torturers, and if we coerce them into having sex with us, we’re called rapists).”

A number of Twitter users showed their disappointment about the line, thinking it is insensitive and sexist. A person wrote, “I don’t expect anything from a Kartik Aaryan movie but this is dismal,”.

Meanwhile, another commented, “Reducing consent & #MeToo to a joke, this is film making.”

Pati Patni Aur Woh

Kartik Aaryan depicts a dubious man that flips over another woman although he is married. The wife role is played by Bhumi Pednekar while the girlfriend character is portrayed by Ananya Panday.

The movie is a reboot of the 1978-released movie with the same title. Aparshakti Khurana also stars in the film as a supporting character. Pati Patni Aur Woh is a Mudassar Aziz directorial and is produced by Renu Ravi Chopra, Krishan Kumar, and Bhushan Kumar.
