Kangana Ranaut Announces Film On Ram Mandir titled “Aparajitha Ayodhya”

Kangana Ranaut, who was last seen in Judgementall Hai Kya (2019), is presently busy shooting for her next outing, titled Thalaivi. Directed by South Indian filmmaker A. L. Vijay, the project is a biopic based on the life of former actress and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha. The multilingual film is being shot at a brisk pace and is scheduled to enter theatres in 2020.

Kangana Ranaut has just added yet another interesting project to her repertoire On Monday, the three-time National Award-winning actress announced her first venture as a producer. Titled Aparajitha Ayodhya, her maiden production venture is based on the much-talked-about Ram-Mandir court case. Well-known screenwriter K.V. Vijayendra Prasad, who wrote Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019) for Kangana Ranaut, is writing the forthcoming film.

When asked about selecting such a controversial subject for her debut as a producer, Kangana Ranaut said, "The Ram temple has been a burning topic for hundreds of years. As a child born in the 80s, I have grown up hearing the name Ayodhya in a negative light because the piece of land on which was born a king, who was the epitome of sacrifices, became the subject of a property dispute. The case has changed the face of Indian politics and the verdict has ended the centuries-old dispute while embodying the secular spirit of India. What makes Aparajitha Ayodhya different is that it is the journey of the protagonist from a non-believer to a believer. And since, in a way, it reflects my personal journey, I decided it would be the apt subject for my first production."

Before Thalaivi and Aparajitha Ayodhya, Kangana Ranaut will be seen in filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s next directorial Panga, which is slated to release in January. She also has an action entertainer Dhaakad slated to hit the marquee in 2020.
