Well-known filmmaker Sanjay Gupta is directing the gangster film. Set in the 1980s and 90s, the untitled flick revolves around two gangsters where John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi play the male leads.

John Abraham, who was most recently seen in Romeo Akbar Walter (2019), is all set to join forces with renowned filmmaker Sanjay Gupta after a gap of six years. The duo last worked together on the 2013 crime-drama, Shootout at Wadala, which turned out to be a huge hit at the box-office.

Gupta, who last helmed the Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam starrer revenge drama Kaabil (2017), is now gearing up to call the shots for another gangster-drama. Besides John Abraham, talented actor Emraan Hashmi has also been roped in to play the parallel lead in the yet-to-be-titled movie.

Well-known producer Bhushan Kumar will bankroll the project under the banner of T-Series Films. Set in the 1980s and ’90s, the film will be the dramatized version of a real-life story. It will tell what all went into transforming Bombay into Mumbai.

According to reports, the untitled film will begin production in July. The makers are looking at wrapping it up by the end of the year and release it in 2020. After finishing this project, John Abraham is expected to reteam with writer-filmmaker Milap Zaveri for a sequel to their 2018 film, Satyameva Jayate.

If we talk about the female lead, the makers have yet not signed anyone. From what we hear, they are keen on roping in an A-list actress for the project. More details are expected to arrive soon.
