Retweeting an Akshay Kumar’s post, in which the actor thanked Prime Minister Narendrea Modi for taking out his time for the panel. Dia Mirza questioned the reason for the women's absence in the room and tagged Akshay Kumar.

In an emphatic tweet to Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, Dia Mirza questioned the reason for women's absence from the Bollywood delegation of actor and producers that recently met Prime Minister to discuss how to take this entertainment industry to the next level. The film delegation has fanned the wrath of the public for its exclusion of female representation.

Dia Mirza questioned the reason for the exclusion of female representation in the room and tagged Akshay Kumar. Meanwhile, filmmaker Alankrita Shrivastava also questioned the absence of women in these official delegations.

In a recent interview with IANS, Alankrita Shrivastava affirmed, "I believe female are equal stakeholders in this film industry and overall in the Indian economy”. The filmmaker said that all policies related to this industry “should be shaped and discussed” by groups having equal representations of female. She added, “We can’t just assume that only men somehow know everything and will decide everything”.

This film delegation was held on Tuesday, which was attended by a 18-member panel involving Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Ajay Devgn, Ritesh Sidhwani, Prasoon Joshi and Siddharth Roy Kapur. According to Siddharth Roy Kapur, the main agenda to discuss with Prime Minister was what this entertainment industry can contribute to India’s raising soft power status all over the world as well as how it would be great if the Government could encourage the film industry in tangible ways so that it was able to thrive and grow.
