The actress Deepika Padukone marked her lifetime’s most significant event by a dreamy wedding with the actor Ranveer Singh in Italy last November. Her receptions’ information, as well as the images, have enthralled the Bollywood admirers for a long time.

Before her nuptials, the actress shared her past experience of depression. The reason for her decision to voice these feelings publicly is she once fell into a depression in the year 2014.

Specifically, via Instagram, Elle India disclosed that Deepika penned a short letter several days prior to her wedding on the occasion of its 22nd Anniversary.

In the letter, she shared her battle against depression and anxiety disorder. Elle stated that with such an “empathy and kindness” in her letter, she “empowered” others to “reach out” and find support.

In the letter, she said she suffered from “anxiety and clinical depression” in mid-2014. Nonetheless, with a combination of “timely professional help” and the caregivers’ support, she gradually regained her health as well as her balance.

Afterwards, she determined to share her “personal journey” publicly to provide those in similar situations with necessary support. And the following year, she established an organization named “The Live, Love, Laugh Foundation” to bring the consciousness of mental health to Indian.

Previously, in a 2014 interview, Deepika confided to Hindustan Times that she had a strange feeling one day in early 2014. It was the period when she was achieving success in her career.

Moreover, one day before, she felt exhausted and fainted. Afterward, the situation began to get worse. “I felt a strange emptiness in my stomach,” said she.

However, she thought that it was merely due to pressure. Therefore, she attempted to “distract” herself by concentrating on working, and “surrounding’ herself with people. However, “the nagging feeling” didn’t disappear. Plus, she also had symptoms of shallow breathing, lack of concentration and frequently “broke down”.
