The breakout star Deepika Padukone got off to a flying start with film Om Shanti Om where she became the co-star of the actor Shah Rukh Khan for the first time. Since then she has established her own niche market with her out-of-the-box choices and off-beat films. With a long list of blockbusters such as Bachna Ae Haseeno, Housefull, Desi Boyz, Race 2, Finding Fancy, Piku, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, she always manages to give her contemporaries a good run for their money.
From historical dramas to slice-of-life films, Deepika’s performance has never disappointed the audiences. In a recent interview, she was asked about the changes in picking a film of the diva. She admitted that there is no change in the way she chooses her projects for 10 years, she just follows her gut and heart. The one and only condition she has is that the films must have the ability to push her beyond her comfort zone and unsettle her.
She said,
However, the actress went on to clarify that this doesn’t mean that she just does the film which is hard-hitting. As long as the film is intriguing her enough, she will take it up.
The diva revealed,
On the work front, Deepika Padukone will be next seen in the film Chaapaak where she will essay the role of an acid attack survivor. Helmed by Meghna Gulzar, Chaapaak is based on the real life of acid attack sufferer Laxmi Agarwal. Not just this, the film also marks Deepika’s debut as a producer.
She will also share the screen space in the sports drama ’83 with hubby Ranveer Singh. Rumors of Deepika reuniting with Ranbir Kapoor in a romantic drama are also doing the rounds.
