Deepika Padukone ENCOURAGES People To Vote Ahead Of 17th Lok Sabha Polls

Deepika Padukone went on to say, “at the end of the day, your country comes first and your responsibility as a citizen is the most important thing.”

In the run-up to 17th Lok Sabha Polls which set to be organised over the next two months, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has urged people to take a vote and do their bit for the nation. For the uninitiated, last week, PM Narendra Modi had called upon 20 individuals from the film industry, comprising of Deepika Padukone, to utilise their influence to spread awareness for voters ahead of the general elections.

What she has done is like a response to the Prime Minister’s appeal. Speaking on the sidelines of Zee Cine Awards 2019 taking place on Tuesday, where she received the trophy for the Best Actor (Female), the actress stated,Screenshot 65

She also went on to say that it’s relatively crucial for everyone to vote.

Also at the ceremony, the 33-year-old actor also got candid about the awards that she won. She said they are not everything to her. Even though awards and box-office awards are prestigious, what important the most is hands down the love from the audiences. The award-winner, who now turns as chairperson of the MAMI (Mumbai Academy of Moving Image), further emphasised how important the young participate in movements.

Workwise, Deepika Padukone will be next seen in the film Chapaak which is based on the real life of an acid attack sufferer. The film also marks her new position, a producer. Stay tuned for more updates!
