Chhapaak: Laxmi Agarwal Tells The Truth About Remuneration Rumors, Affirms “It’s A Fake News”

Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak has turned out to be a hotly awaited film in 2020. Ever since the first poster of the film was out, it has created quite a buzz among the public as the uncanny similarity between Deepika and acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. No prize for guessing, when the trailer of the film dropped, it took the Internet by storm.

However, the rumors about remuneration are making the rounds shortly after the release of the film trailer. Recently, according to a report published in Bollywood Hungama, the storyteller and main character Laxmi isn’t happy with the remuneration she got initially. The source revealed that for the film rights, she has been paid only Rs 13 lakhs though now she is advised to request for more. They also spilled the beans that a major tiff has happened between the film crew and Laxmi.

Laxmi recently took to her Instagram handle to rubbish such rumors. She shared a screenshot of a report claiming her unhappy with the pay she gets for sharing her story.

She affirmed that it’s fake news and officially stopped any speculation around it.

Recently, Deepika Padukone publicly disclosed the reason why she said “yes” to the project. In an interview, she revealed she found the narrative very interesting and the story compelling too. The actress saw a connection between Laxmi’s grit and determination and the human spirit.

Helmed by Meghan Gulzar, the film also features Vikrant Massey alongside Bollywood breakout star Deepika Padukone. Chhapaak also marks the debut as a producer of Deepika and is predicted to become a huge box office hit.
