Earning only Rs 28.38 crore in the first week, “Chhapaak” has made itself the lowest-grossing in week 1 in Deepika Padukone’s career in the last 9 years.

Before hitting the theatres, Chhapaak was expected to be a blockbuster at the box office as it was promoted intensely and got a lot of positive feedbacks. The film has completed its run in week 1 of the box office. However, what it collected after that has gone in reverse to what people had predicted, which has disappointed many audiences.

Since 2011, Deepika’s career has flown high like a duck in water and most of her films created a hit at the box office and ranked in the list of the year. Prior to Chhapaak, her latest movie Padmaavat directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali was an out-and-out flick to mark a new phase in the actress’s professional life. The blockbuster featuring Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor as well earned more than Rs 302 crore in its lifetime. Thanks to it, numerous people have put their trust in the well-promoted film to become another hit in Deepika’s acting career.
