Box Office Clash Day 2: “Tanhaji” Is Running Ahead Of Deepika Padukone Starrer “Chhapaak”

Compared to Ajay Devgn’s “Tanhaji”, “Chhapaak” starring Deepika Padukone has been way behind in the box office clash day 1 and 2.

Hitting the theatres on the same day, Deepika Padukone’s much-awaited film Chhapaak has to meet a box office clash with Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. While both of them have been taking breath from the audience’s expectation, Tanhaji seems to weigh more than Deepika’s film.

Tanhaji and Chhapaak are both formed on the basis of real-life events and before heading to the release, they have been the talk of the town. Director Meghna Gulzar helmed Chhapaak, meanwhile, Ajay Devgn’s 100^th film was under Om Raut’s direction.

Now we come to the two films’ box office clash on the second day. It has been a harsh competition between Ajay Devgn and Deepika Padukone when both actors are two of the most sought after Bollywood stars. As per the figures collected, Tanhaji has witnessed a greater run in its grossing with Rs 15.10 crore on the first day of release, which was much higher than Chhapaak’s one when it earned only Rs 4.77 crore. On day 2, the case continued to stream the same as day 1.

Apart from Ajay Devgn, Tahaji: The Unsung Warrior also starred Saif Ali Khan and Kajol in the key roles. The epic film was inspired by Tanaji Malusare’s life since he is the leader of the Maharashtrian Marathi military in the 17^th century. It marked the joint venture production between T-Series and Ajay Devgn FFilms. Meanwhile, Chhapaak is a biopic of Laxmi Agarwal who is an acid attack victim and featured Vikrant Massey as well.
