According to film trade analyst Girish Johar, this is the most successful quarter in the history of the film industry.

The Hindi film industry witnessed the rain of blockbusters in the first quarter of 2019. It kicked off with Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical Strike in January, followed by Ranveer Singh-starrer Gully Boy, and Kangana’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Total Dhamaal, Kesar and Badla have also contributed to creating the first three months of the year 2019 a hit.

The first quarter has recorded a 20 per cent increase over the same quarter of last year. According to film trade analyst Girish Johar, this is the most successful quarter of the film industry ever. He said, “In January, we had Uri. in February, Gully boy did exceedingly well. Then there were Total Dhamaal and Kesari which also raked in the moolah. These films did exceedingly well and thus proved to be profitable in a period which is traditionally considered a dull one.”
