Bollywood 2018: These Actors Don’t Play Lead Roles But Still Steal The Spotlight

In Bollywood movies this year, actors such as Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, Gajraj Rao, Jim Sarbh, Surekha Sikri, and Neena Gupta delivered outstanding performances.

In 2018, Bollywood saw many remarkable performances from actors namely Aparshakti Khurana, Priyanshu Painyuli, Pankaj Tripathi, Gajraj Rao, Jim Sarbh, Surekha Sikri, and Neena Gupta.

Aparshakti Khurana as a smart and funny friend Bittu in the comedy horror film Stree, Jim Sarbh as a stunning and faithful slave-general of Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat or Surekha Sikri as an angry but thoughtful mother-in-law or Gajraj Rao as a caring husband Jeetender in the comedy-drama Badhaai Ho. So, what do they have in common? There is no doubt that all these actors stole the spotlight with their outstanding performance. No one in the list played the leading roles but they ruled all the way.

According to the business analyst Atul Mohan, the best thing about these actors is they certainly know the way to make their role impactful. The analyst said that all of them understood the screenplay better as well as knew the way to make impression on the viewers. He added that each of these actors did an excellent job when they got the right chance.

Gajraj Rao is overwhelmed by Badhaai Ho’s success and the actor admitted that Amit Sharma’s movie has changed his life and career. According to Gajraj, whenever he goes out, many people come to him and give him congratulation.

When Sanju came out in India, Vicky was shooting his upcoming Bollywood movie in Serbia. The actor started receiving positive feedback quickly. Vicky Kaushal’s social network accounts were full of messages and the critics even gave him praises for his performance in the movie.

When talking about how he chose Gajraj, Surekha and Neena for their roles in the movie Badhaai Ho, filmmaker Amit Sharma shared that he was searching for a “relatable actors, a dad who was not as fit and a mom older enough to create more disbelief and chaos over her state of unexpected pregnancy”.

Giving them more praises for their performance, Amit Sharma expressed that he was completely surprised by their outstanding performances. When asked about working with these actors once again, Amit Sharma responded,

Aparshakti Khurrana also added that after playing these characters, he has now started getting offers of leading roles.

These things bring to one question: will the success they gained from their characters assure them better pay? According to Atul Mohan, these actors might request a 15-20% remuneration increase but it won’t be an enormous amount. Nonetheless, they can definitely get numerous offers as well as have more opportunities to grow.
