Bhumi Pednekar, who received great response for her performance in “Saand Ki Aankh”, will shortly be seen in “Pati Patni Aur Woh”, co-starring Ananya Panday and Kartik Aaryan.

Bhumi Pednekar is ecstatic about the kind of response her latest film Saand Ki Aankh (2019) extracted from the audience. Also starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead role, the movie has been doing steady business ever since its release and is expected to emerge as a sleeper hit.

After Saand Ki Aankh, Bhumi Pednekar is now gearing up for the release of her next film Pati Patni Aur Woh, which is an official remake of the 1978 cult film Pati Patni Aur Woh. Recently, the makers dropped the trailer of the film, which received rousing response from the audience. Besides Bhumi Pednekar, Pati Patni Aur Woh also stars Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday in lead roles.

Pednekar says that initially she had doubts about starring in the film, but several discussions with the makers convinced her to be a part of it. “After innumerable discussions with the makers and the director, all my doubts were flushed out. It is a situational comedy, it is very empowering to both the genders, and there is nothing black and white. I think the makers have been conscious to make sure that they do not turn this into a sexist commentary. This film is not that at all. Beautiful things go wrong easily, but the moment I read it, I understood it. I decided to play the part. They have been sensitive and careful, and it’s been a really big achievement,” she asserts.

Bhumi Pednekar goes on to add that she has never seen her before in this type of role. “I have not seen myself like this on the big screen before. In my head and in real life, I am always like this, but the audiences have not seen me like that. So, it was exciting for me to play Vedika Tripathi. It was a totally new avatar for me,” the actress says in conclusion. Pati Patni Aur Woh releases on December 6.
