Ali Abbas Zafar Opens Up About On PeeCee’s Exit From Bharat

Bharat, the upcoming film from Ali Abbas Zafar, is one of the most highly-anticipated films this year. Starring powerful names in Bollywood including Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, Bharat has made fans buzz with excitement. But the film earlier triggered a controversy when Priyanka suddenly left the film. Before Katrina's entry, it was Priyanka who played opposite Salman Khan.

Previously, the pair Salman - Priyanka was last seen to co-star in God Tussi Great Ho, over a decade ago. Therefore, fans are excited now to watch their collaboration on the big screen again. The news that PeeCee is no more a part Bharat is a piece of real bad news for everyone. Recently, director Ali Abbas Zafar confirmed this and also said that the reason behind is very special and is very happy for her.

Confirming that Priyanka Chopra had backed out of the project, Ali Abbas took to his Twitter and wrote:

Speaking in an interview with Filmfare, when asked to clear up the hidden meaning behind his tweet, the director shared:

CEO of Atul Agnihotri’s Reel Life Productions Nikhil Namit reportedly called her exit from Bharat "unprofessional". Reacting to PeeCee's decision, the filmmaker said, “And whether it was the producers, Salman or me, as adults we understood her reasons and let her go”. He also confirmed the two will be friends for good.

Talking about roping Katrina into the movie, he revealed, "Katrina loved the script. She's busy with three big films including Thugs Of Hindostan, ABCD3, and Zero. But she somehow squeezed in our dates. There have been some amendments in her character."

Bharat is set to hit on theatres on 5 June 2019.
