Akshay Kumar Urges People To Stop Tweeting And Start Donating For Assam Flood Relief

The Bollywood celebrities and the entire nation is praying for Assam flood victims and are coming forward to donate for the relief operations.

Actor Akshay Kumar has once again shown his heroic side in real life, in a trailer launch of his upcoming film Mission Mangal, the actor asked people to stop tweeting about Assam floods and instead asked them to donate for the relief operations.

The situation in Assam is one of the major natural disasters which has so far affected more than 28 Lakh people across 28 districts. The rescue and relief operations are being taken care of by the state government and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

Recently, actor Akshay Kumar donated Rupees one crore each for Assam and Kaziranga National Park.

On Thursday during the trailer launch of his film Mission Mangal, Akshay Kumar said, “I saw a picture of a child stuck in the waters and felt that we are very lucky that something like this did not happen with us. Yeh meri beti ke saath bhi ho sakta hai. Mujhe sirf react nahi karna hai and Twitter par nahi likhna hai ‘so sad and God Bless’, main aap sab se darkhwast karunga ki aap Twitter mat daalo but kuch karo. Jitna aapse ban pade, get up and stop tweeting about it. Don’t write ‘so sad, God Bless’ react to it."

Meanwhile, actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas also took to Twitter urging people to donate for the Assam Flood relief operations. The actress wrote, "Extremely devastated by all the news coming in from #Assam and other parts of India. It’s heartbreaking to read about the displacement and loss of life. My prayers with those affected. Please donate."
