Action Star John Abraham Drops Out Of “Sarfarosh” Sequel

In August 2018, John Abraham had confirmed he would co-produce and topline the sequel to the 1999 movie “Sarfarosh”. However, now the director of the film has made it clear that things did not work out and John is no longer associated with the project.

John Abraham, who is presently juggling several projects, has walked out of the Sarfarosh movie (1999) sequel. It was in August last year when the actor had confirmed co-producing and headlining the much-awaited sequel. But as things stand today, the action star is not a part of the project anymore.

John Mathew Matthan, who directed the original film starring Aamir Khan, has been working on its sequel for quite some time now. Talking about the turn of events, the filmmaker told an Indian tabloid that John has not associated with the movie anymore and that he will be able to comment on the casting only after fine-tuning the script.

A well-placed source reveals that John Abraham and John Mathew Matthan were in touch over the past couple of months as the latter was busy developing the script for the sequel. However, the economics of the project did not work out and they parted ways. It will now delay the production of the film.

Confirming the latest development, John Abraham’s spokesperson said,

Meanwhile, John Abraham has committed to several other projects. He is currently filming an out-and-out comic-caper Pagalpanti, which is being helmed by well-known filmmaker Anees Bazmee. The actor will next begin work on the Rensil D’Silva directorial, which revolves around bikers and bike-racing. The Jism (2003) actor will also be seen in Nikkhil Advani’s Batla House and 1911.
